Technology and data for education and human rights
In 1959 the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, with ten principles. Of these, principle 7 sanctions that the child is entitled to receive free and compulsory education, to enable her/him, on a basis of equal opportunity, to develop his abilities, his individual judgement, and his sense of moral and social responsibility, and to become a useful member of society. Our NGO is named after this principle, which defines its mission. The Declaration of the Rights of the Child was followed in 1989 by the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), the latest international human rights treaty to set out the civil, political, economic, social, health and cultural rights of children.
